Women Empowerment

Empowerment means giving authority to someone to do what is rightful to be done by that person or even to work something amazing. The need for empowering women arises due to the gender inequality in the society where a woman has been deprived from the right to plan or manage her life according to her own needs.

Gender based violence against women is very common  Eastern Asia especially in Pakistan ,India, Bangladesh etc, where it is a crime for a baby to be born as a girl so as a result either she is buried alive or is deprived to breathe some air in. There is a culture around the subcontinent is during the time of marriage a girl is to be sent with a lot of "jahez" like fare welling their daughter with a lot of gifts which is not affordable by their poor parents cause them to do this unforgiving act.  Not only that even when she is allowed to live, she is barely an independent person but more likely to be a prisoner. Other than boys who tend to spend their childhood playing  with toys or hanging out and playing cricket as an example with friends, girls are restricted to home and even most of them spend their time doing domestic work like carrying water, collecting fuel wood , food preparation and care giving .Where boys are given right to surf their time in education ,most of the girls are not authorize by their households to be educated, the major reasons for this is the early marriages for girls .Even if some of them are given the right to go to school but still  a lot of portions of these girls are not allowed to study further with the given fact of  girls being not permitted to work. Parents often think of it as wastage of money.

Women are more targeted to physical violence then men. It is a fact that almost in every two minutes someone in America is being sexually assaulted. Women are also being subjected to harmful practices. In Southern India girls in early age like 7 onwards are forced feed. They are tortured to drink lot of milk even if they are full and don't desire for more by wooden sticks and are beaten too. The reason claimed by their parents is a fat and a healthy woman is more like to be accepted by the male partner then the thin one. Some of the women are not even allowed to pick their own partner as a result of divorces in future. There are many cases of women divorces being registered due to the fact of giving birth to a girl then to a boy. Research has shown that producing male or female is the responsibility of male other than women who is being subjected to punishment because of this. Women have "XX" chromosomes while men have "XY" chromosomes so if "X" chromosome combine with "X" of a woman then it’s a girl but if "Y" chromosome of a male combines with women "X" chromosome then it’s a boy. Controlling her fertility is a right of women. She should be the one to plan her family including the right of deciding the right time, number and spacing among children. Violation against these terms could cause abnormalities among children and most importantly death of a mother through the reproduction cycle. Due to the violation of this has not only can cause an immediate death to the mother but also to spreading of family. A large family means that there are a lot to be feed but due to scarce resources most of these families suffer in poverty, there is no harm in having large family other then the fact they shouldn't be deprived of living their life according to the normal people and should have enough resources for them to be fed easily.

 

ALL this discrimination against women is not what women all around the world are subjected to .For example if you look at the history where women in Pakistan is suppressed , she is also empowered like Benazir Bhutto she was the one of the ladies who were entitle to be called as an empowered women , she completed her higher education from Harvard university not only this people have a perception of not letting a women to be in the top hierarchy position but she became Pakistan first lady Prime Minister crossing these weak and baseless perception. Countries like America where women are empowered could be seen from the fact of getting equal opportunity of getting education compared with men and also have the authority of deciding their own partner. Furthermore also own the decision of deciding the time and number of family they want to have.

In the time of high inflation where some families are victimized by it can overcome this by allowing their daughters with education to work instead of sitting home and wasting time in order to earn money and feed the family especially for those families who only have a daughter. Brothers, Fathers, Husbands who do not send their loved ones to work with perception and fear of women being targeted to social harassment can ensure their safety either by giving themselves a favor of providing them with defense weapons like taser which is an effective compatible weapon for self defense which doesn’t kill a life but rather ensure safety.

Overall conclusion of this topic is not to be one sided while comparing and deciding the who among these genders is the best and worst instead my essay over here wanted to ensure the equality of genders. Women should be treated with same manner, respect and authority as men are. The solution for these problems are proper education which ensures healthy development of family and changing people perception based on baseless logics .Note it is not the total responsibility of government to ensure the equality among these genders but as an individual it is our duty to inform other people about these cases too. Empowering women is necessary where she is subjected to harsh treatment. Remember this:
